This year, Oak Harbor High School was honored to host the 3A State ?Qualifying matches for Girl’s Wrestling. With this being a home tournament, the stands were full of students, families, and faculty. There was an endless stream of support for the girls all around. This tournament took place over two days, February 14 and 15. Many schools from across the region were in attendance at this tournament. 24 Wildcat wrestlers were able to participate with the hopes of being at the top and advancing to state. 19 Wildcat wrestlers will advance to the State Championship in the Tacoma Dome which starts on February 20:Julia Gonzales, Amber Shaffer, Isabella Nuno, Ambrea-Jane Habitan, Jayanna Ivory, Emma Whalen, Genesis Egli, Sarai Egli, Jaid Williams, Tatyana Cabell, Masserati Valenzuela Malagon, Madison Yadon, Madelynne Brooks, Nuve Barrera, Cady Ritz, Lotoaigaola Tupu, Jayda Paynter, Olivia Hudson, and Hannah Bailey.. On January 31st, our Boys Varsity Wrestling team had their last home meet of the season against Mountlake Terrace High School and Lynnwood High School. This was a dual-match wrestling meet with an ending score of 76-0 vs Mountlake Terrace and an ending score of 64-16 vs Lynnwood. This meet completes our home meets for the season. “Tonight the boys did really well.
