The OHHS Boys Varsity Basketball team celebrated senior night with a decisive 63–47 victory over the Nooksack Valley Pioneers on February 2. The evening honored seven seniors: Joseph Lewis, Bryson Harris, Riley Ellis, Riley Jackson, Max Waldron, Cohen Esvelt, and Xavier Ochoa.
Energized by an enthusiastic crowd of Wildcat fans, the team delivered a commanding performance from start to finish. The night became historic when senior Xavier Ochoa shattered Oak Harbor High School's single-season scoring record, surpassing Manny Martucci's 469-point mark that had stood since 1993—a 33-year-old record.
"My senior season has been filled with ups and downs and has really strengthened my relationship with my teammates," said senior Riley Jackson. "We've gotten to a point where we all know we have each other's backs, not just in basketball, but in life."
The electric atmosphere contributed significantly to the victory, with both students and parents creating an environment that fueled the team's performance, making this senior night one to remember.
