On January 23, the Girl’s Varsity Wrestling team celebrated their senior night with a duel against Sedro Woolley High School. The match ended in a close loss, 35-36, but every wrestler poured their heart into the competition.
The night was especially significant for the 11 seniors: Amber Shaffer, Julia Gonzales, Ambrea-Jane Habitan, Genesis Egli, Johanna Cisco, Alexis Scallan, Madison Yadon, Madelynne Brooks, Cady Ritz, Lotoaigaola Tupu, and Olivia Hudson. They brought their best to the mat, showcasing their strength and determination.
As they walked the mat alongside their families, emotions ran high. This was a moment of pride and reflection. Teammates rallied on the sidelines, cheering loudly, creating a space of unity and support.
It was more than just a duel though. It was a celebration of their journey. Each senior had a story, a reason for being there. The effort and spirit they displayed is something to truly be proud of.
